Lake Mburo NationalParlk

Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest national park designated in 1982. It is the nearest Park to the Country’s capital city Kampala and is found in Kiruhura district of Western Uganda. It’s the only Park in Uganda which has an entire lake and its 260kms in terms of Size. The Park has an altitude range from up to 1828m above sea Level.
The Park was named after the Lake that falls in its territory called Lake Mburo. The Acacia-dotted savannah woodland of 158 square miles (size of the Park) is a home to large herds of Impalas, topis, eland, and a lot of antelopes.  Other animals found in the Park include Zebras, Uganda kobs, duikers bushbucks, Ankole cattle topis, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, warthogs, oribi as well as different bird species such as the Crested Francolin, Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, Brown Parrot, Barefaced Go-away bird, Rednecked Spur, common Quails, Black-billed Barbet, Greenwood Hoopoe, Blue-napped Mousebird, Lilac-breasted Roller,African-grey Hornbill, Nubian Woodpecker, Trilling Cisticola, bee-eaters and the cheeky bronze-tailed starling.
Among the activities carried out in the Park include the Game drives and the boat rides on the Lake which gives you chances to see hippos, crocodiles, cormorants, herons, fish eagle, pelicans, and many birds species.
