Kibale National Park

Kibale is one of the most attractive Uganda National Parks with rich tropical rain forest and primates of almost 13 species. The Park is 766kms in terms of size and is found in western Uganda near Fort portal. Kibale National Park forms a joint block with Queen Elizabeth National Park and is famously known for Chimpanzee tracking and bird watching in the Bigodi swamp. The Park also is a habitant to over 60 species of mammals although they are rarely seen since they are found deeply with tin this rain forest.
The park harbors almost 1450 Chimpanzees and all the chimp trek activities start from Kanyachu the Park headquarters.  There is also a habituated community chimpanzee near the Park headquarters and this gives tourists a chance to see how the great apes live in their natural environment. Other primate species in the Park include red colobus monkeys, I’hoesti monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons and so on. Kibale Forest National Park has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa. The Park also has a diversity of bird species like the Nahan’s francolin, Cassin’s spinetail, blue-headed bee eater and masked apalis and so on.
